Hey,

How are you doing? I'm doing great. It's been a while since I made a journal, but I've got something cool to tell you. The mother of my best friend is also an artist (her website: andersabstract.com/) and she asked my if I wanted to join her at an exposition! Of course I said yes. I am so excited. It is in Zaltbommel, a small town in the Netherlands, and artists there will open their studio for visitors. Now the exposition will be after the summer holidays so I have some time to prepare more art. I'll finish my portrait series and I'll try to make two prints and some small things (ACEO, bookmark, postcards). Now I want to ask you for some advice, so if you could answer these questions. I'd appreciate that.

1: Which drawings / paintings I've already made do you think I should bring with me?
2: What kind of art do you buy at conventions / galeries etc? (So I have an idea of what would be nice to bring with me)

Have a nice day!

Back from NYC

3 min read
Omg it was really fantastic. I've decided that I want to study or live at least one year in NY and then spend as much time as I can in all those cool parks. (Seriously why don't we have such parks in the Netherlands? QAQ) And the weather was great, so yeah I'm really a lucky bastard xD. I also have some made real life sketches, wich I am now addicted to. Here are the highlights of what I've seen / done in NY ~ ~

1: The hop on, hop off tour. That was very epic. Most guides know much about all the buildings and are also very funny. For example, two guides said victoria secrets was their favorite store xD. You also see a lot on those tours.  If you're tourguide is boring, you better get out and take the next bus, because the next one might be a lot better.
2: Times Square is epic. Especially at night because then all the lights are on. There walk many people in epic costumes around (Statue of Liberty, Iron Man, Disney characters etc) and my sister hugged one of them randomly and she got lifted and rotated. Yeah, I was dying of laughter afterwards.
3: Seeing a musical is very cool. We went to Rock of Ages with a last minute booking. This musical was very funny and nice and had good music. And there was a character where everything about him screamed 'gay', but at the end of the show he stated: 'I'm not gay, I'm just German. " However, sometimes people in the adience laughed at something and then I sat there like: was that a nice english word trick I did not catch or ...? Meh.
4: Keep your eyes open on the street!. Because after that we saw Tom Hanks, who is playing a musical on Broadway. We weren't the only people who stopped and waited to see him. And that's a huge understatement.  Still pretty cool to have experienced something like that once
5 Hard Rock Cafe. The most awesome restaurant was the Hard Rock Cafe. I have seen a broken Linkin Park guitar and more * A *. And for the people who think they really play 'hard' loud rock. That's not true, it's more 'mainstreem' rock it is. How would you be able talk with eachother otherwise?
6: Top of the Rocks. And if you want to see New York from a high building, you better go to Top of the Rocks. The best pictures of the Empire State aren't shot  by the Empire itself and you also have better view on Central Park. And go in the evening or during sunset. Then I think you have the best pictures!

And we have done everything by foot so every night my feet were dead. Things I can also recommend:  taking the metro (don't do everything by foot, and don't underestimated the distances), Guggenheim and Central Park Zoo. Expect some pictures of NY coming!

Hey c:

I went to Tsunacon a couple days ago and it was AWESOME. I met the awesome people from the Mat-hyve and it was so much fun. Scetching in each others dummy's, talking, laughing and HUGGING. The dealer room is heaven! I hope I can stand there once as well as an artist, but that is a dream for later c: I bought nice stuff, mostly prints.(Konett bluemonika tikopets ColorSergeant : check those amazing artists out!) I will fill my door completly with prints and posters u.u. It was a very nice day and next year I am so going again.

Now to another topic, the giveaway of Michaela9, an amazing artist, who makes crafts and drawings. She gives a box filled with little things (sketchbook, ACEO's etc made by her completly) away to the one with the lucky number. Here's the link to her journal: michaela9.deviantart.com/journ… and to the box: michaela9.deviantart.com/art/I…  I hope I am >u<

Hello,

Well I wish you all the best for Christmas and new year. I hope you have an nice time with your family with some presents. How are you gonna celebrate Christmas and new year? Comment your answer if you want. Today I am gonna celebrate it in Germany with my grandpa who I don't see much and tomorrow with the rest of my family. It was already decided that I am gonna help with cooking, not that I mind that. I love cooking but I don't do it often. I'll celebrate new year in an hotel wich the husband of my mum's best friend is the director of. We'll  have the whole hotel with just 10 people (3 families). You could make an quite creepy story with that... Not like I believe creepy stuff will happen xd. I hope 2013 will be an amazing year for everyone ^^.
